From 2003 to 2018 I lived in China and built the travel company hiddenchina.net on. I had the choice to purchase stock images from the various regions, but I decided to produce my pictures myself. At first with film, I soon switched to digital cameras and so photography developed from a hobby into an integral part of my work. During countless trips through the Middle Country, an extensive portfolio of most regions of China was created, including trips to Tibet, Xinjiang, Sichuan and Guangxi, to name just the most famous. From 2014 to 2018 I also lived for 3.5 years in Yunnan, the most diverse region in China as you can experience almost all climatic zones there, from high alpine to subtropical. In addition, Yunnan is home to the majority of the Chinese ethnic minorities and thus the villages in particular offer an incredible variety.
